Home Up

 1999-2000

The Arizona Chapter is fortunate to have two brothers Dan and Bernie Conway, both gung ho workers for the Chapter.  Dan (shown right) has worked as Legislative Chairman and Bernie as TOPS Chairman.

Bernie holds the important role of Chapter Golf Director.  He set up the first tournament for the Chapter at Rolling Hills Golf Course. Only a foursome played this year, but we are sure this will grow into something big.   Roy Anderson took top honors.

In 2000, the Chapter's second annual Golf Tournament was played again at Rolling Hills with 3 threesomes and again Roy Anderson took top honors with a 67 and our President won the Golfing Fool Hat. Thanks again to Bernie Conway.

It was decided to eliminate the gift exchange Christmas Party and replace it with a Silent Auction with the idea of adding money to the Scholarship and JROTC programs. And who to chair the new Silent Auction, none other than Dan Conway. It was a huge success and was a lot of fun as well.

The bidding gets going at the 10 or so tables of items up for the highest bidder.

The Chapter membership stood at 85 past military and 28 auxiliary members.

Things liven up in 2001.
