A Day for Remembrance

 

December 7, 2003

December 7, 2003 found the Chapter President Ron Green, Dan Conway, Governor Janet Napolitano, and Past President Chuck Schluter with the MOAA Memorial Wreath at the Battleship Arizona Anchor. Well done guys.

Pictured are CAPT Daniel M. Conway, USCGR (RET), President, Arizona Council of Chapters and Lt Col Ronald Green, USAF (RET), President, Arizona Chapter, with the wreath which they presented as part of the Pearl Harbor Remembrance ceremonies in Phoenix on December 7, 2002. 

The attendance of approximately 250 included 20 Pearl Harbor survivors who were easily identified by their gray or bald heads, and their colorful Hawaiian shirts. The event was sponsored by the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association and the Arizona Department of Veterans' Services. It was held at the USS Arizona Memorial in Phoenix before the anchor from the USS Arizona BB-39.
